Job Description

• Provide instruction to academic and behaviorally at-risk students
• Provide small group instruction in Reading
• Reinforce skills and/or strategies by assisting identified students, in small groups, with activities that supplement the teacher's instruction.
• Keep an activity log delineating what areas of instruction are focused on (i.e. reading, behavior)
• Collaborate with classroom teachers on a weekly basis to plan supplemental programming, accommodation strategies (behavioral) and/or differentiated instruction for identified students.
• Continue to acquire professional knowledge and learning of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional development meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support).

• Knowledge of child cognitive development and various learning styles
• Knowledge of MTSS and experience with facilitating Tier 2 instruction (core academics and behavioral)
• Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative student data
• Strength in using data to drive instruction

• Possess experience with Tier 2 instruction
• Possess the skills and desire to work in a collaborative team with others
• Possess experience with computer instruction and technology

• Able to lift 15 pounds to carry, push/or pull items
• Hear and speak to exchange information in person or on the telephone
• The ability to travel to other buildings within the direct is required
